Introducing Earlscliffe’s Wellbeing Champions 🫶

Posted: 4th November 2024

Earlscliffe is proud to announce the launch of its Wellbeing Champions initiative, dedicated to fostering mental health and wellbeing throughout our school community. Building on the success of our Student Working Party, who recently led an impactful review of the school dress code, this new programme exemplifies Earlscliffe’s core values of Community, Respect, and Personal Development.

Our Wellbeing Champions include Alessandro, Johanna, Freya, Orlando, Levon, and Sara, who are passionate about making a positive difference.

Through this program, they will:

🌱 Promote positive mental health and wellbeing across the school
🌸 Shape initiatives and events that support students and staff
🤝 Provide peer support and foster a culture of care and respect
💡 Build leadership, communication, and empathy skills

Pete Scargill, Head of Pastoral and Boarding who is spearheading this initiative emphasised, “Student and staff wellbeing is a top priority at Earlscliffe. We’re excited to empower our students to actively shape a positive, supportive school environment and gain valuable leadership and personal development opportunities along the way.”

The initiative is also supported by SENCo, Leanne Dinsdale and School Nurse, Maria Cordell. Leanne commented “Mental Health Champions are essential in fostering a caring and resilient school community. By learning strategies to support their own well-being and that of their peers, champions not only enhance their own mental health but also provide a compassionate resource for others.”

This program represents Earlscliffe’s ongoing commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals in a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
