This morning, a group of our students proudly represented Earlscliffe at a special local school screening of The Walk as part of the Folkestone Documentary Festival.
The film follows the incredible journey of Amal, a 12-foot-tall puppet symbolising the struggles of unaccompanied young refugees. Amal’s three-month trek across Europe, starting from the Syrian border brought attention to the need for safety and belonging for displaced children.
In October 2021, she even made a memorable stop in Folkestone, which is why the film is opening the Folkestone Documentary Festival this weekend.🧳✨
This was an invaluable opportunity for our students to broaden their global perspectives, deepen their empathy, and grow as compassionate global citizens. A special thanks to Miss Day for organising.
